Unconfined Dr. Priyanka Bissa Vyas has emerged as a youth icon not only for her state Chhattisgarh but also for the entire nation after she was honoured with “NSS President Award 2017-18” by Hon’ President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhawan on 24th Sept 2019 for her extraordinary contribution in the field of self-employment, disability reformation, child & women education, women empowerment, youth leadership, cleanliness, personal hygiene, gender sensitivity & gender equality that comes under Sustainable Development Goals no.1,3,4,5&13. Her leadership in numerous government projects and representation of India at international summits like G20, Y20, PBD, and IYD highlight her global impact. In March 2024, Dr. Priyanka achieved a world record through her Raktveer Campaign, which reached an astounding 23,180 beneficiaries.

Rex Karmaveer Chakra Awardee Dr. Priyanka Bissa Vyas is a native of Raipur, Chhattisgarh and residing in Mumbai, Maharashtra holds Masters of Arts in Political Science and PhD focusing on social media and youth empowerment, her research is one of its own kind in India and stands as a unique contribution in the field of study

Her inclination is towards extensive bandwidth of activities involves social work, art & craft, dance, painting, writing and academics. She won her very first state award at the age of 2 for dance and has also been awarded by the former President of India late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam for her drawing when she was 6. 

Her journey as a social activist began when she was in the 9th standard. She would collect books and started to call upon slum dwelling kids at her home for taking classes on the rooftop. Later she started going to the slums to teach.

At the age of 17 she slated a plan with her brother to establish a kindergarten school for underprivileged  and poor mothers as second inning school and became the youngest social entrepreneur.  She also broadened the horizon of her commitments with an orphan age where she opened a school to provide education to the unfortunate ones.

She has launched many campaigns for public welfare which are supervised and led by her personally. Her campaigns like “Swachata se Swasthata” in a bid to promote cleanliness & healthiness, “Mor Van Mor Dhan” which is a plant adoption programme, “Prathiba hi Pehchan” a major initiative to give a cultural platform to blind and differently abled people, “Blind Vision” an initiative to provide writers to blind candidates in exams for free & recording audio books for blinds, “Differently Able” Campaign which successfully made handicapped women ‘self-employed’ and is in process to make more women self employed nationwide have always been motivational and engages & empowers the youth. 

 

She has also won the National Award by Govt of India at the India’s First Mega Youth Parliament announced by Hon’ Prime Minister  of India Narendra Modi amongst 8,500 youth of then 29 States & UT , also her pivotal idea of installing sanitary pad machine got included in Chhattisgarh Budget 2018.

Dr. Priyanka became the first youth of this country to give India its first “Blood Test Card” where free blood test cards were provided to 11,550 registered people across country in Rajim Kumbh 2018. Also she became Indian Youth Ambassador to China IYD 2019 by Govt of India to strengthen International Relations and was sent to China for the same.

 

With her biography and achievements being included in UPSC, PSC syllabus, Dr. Priyanka became the youngest person about whom a question was asked in 2020 Civil Service Exam. A question been asked on her was as historic as it could be because never in the 50 years of National Service Scheme a question was asked on a cadet in civil service examination. Also  she is officially called as Chhattisgarh Ki Beti by Govt Of C.G. Dr. Priyanka works with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) MoYAS as a Master Trainer for national youth volunteers and till now she has trained NYVs from 13 districts of Chattisgarh.

As a student Dr. Priyanka has always excelled in her studies and extra-curricular activities. She was awarded as best student of Ravishankar University. She has participated in various co-curricular activities and has won more than 300 awards at National and International level. Besides her social responsibilities she enjoys dancing in forms like Kathak, Bihu, Kalbelia, Raut Nacha, Lavni etc. her other hobbies include making traditional paintings like Phad painting, Madhubani, Warli, Contemporary, Modern art, Bastar art etc. she also likes making craft, reading books and writing.

The TEDx Speaker who believes “You cannot do all the good that world needs, but world needs all the good that you can do” continuous to inspire the youth by sharing her journey and motivational words of wisdom and has done so by giving public speeches at various states and prestigious colleges like Banaras Hindu University, VNR VJIET Hyderabad and various government institute. 

 

When the firmament of the mind is painted with all inclusive dreams & aspirations then the individual is never limited to a fixed frame of work to emerge significant for the self & society. With such all inclusiveness Dr. Priyanka Bissa Vyas, has proved to be Indian Youth Icon as she stood strong against all the odds. Leading by her own example she has been suggested innumerable times to drop some of her commitments to focus more on others but she is all zealous to go on with them all as not a single day has passed when she isn’t absolutely involved to promptly use the 24-hour cycle for all her indulgence .
